A Piece of Peace

As the new year is upon us, I find myself in a calm, not necessarily looking back or forward, just existing as I am. And in that, I find a piece of peace with where I am, and how I am, as I am.

I’m noticing a new phrase circulating around my reality: New Year, Same Me.

Finding the courage to be ourselves in a world full of differences, is heroic. I believe in the power of presence, and who we are stems from something so deep within us; I’d call it our essence. It embodies all that we do, unmasked by expectations. We can feel it when entering someone’s energy field. Who they are lies unspoken in the unseen.

So, how do we find and learn to acknowledge it?

I believe that comes from finding that presence within ourselves. And to do that takes a journey of self-reflection. We must be willing to see the good, with the bad, and think no different of it. We must be willing to see how everything that happens, comes with a great divine balance.

Then, we integrate that balance within us, noticing how we reflect the light we carry inside of us.

I believe to carry such light, we must learn the power of reverence and the acts of grace. To hold such a delicate feeling with such grand affection means knowing when one is feeling, and how to use that gift for healing.

We all have something that needs healing; that’s the beauty of having a world designed for self-reflection and personal evolution. When one grows, we all grow. We are a collective.

So, what do you need to heal, or what do you need to feel?

In that feeling, there are answers to understanding the nature of the self and the importance of who we are now, why we are the way we are now, and how we can become the greatest reflection of the light we know within us now.

When we speak positive words and affirmations of hope, we pave the way for growth. New Year, Same Me, notices that in all time and space, we are abundantly growing, expanding, and evolving the nature of our existence. This is when awareness washes over us.

Who we are is in perpetual motion, even when embracing moments of meditation.

That’s the gift the Morning Pages collection has offered me: a space to breathe free from judgment or expectation, a space to see what lies dormant within my mind and body and awaken to higher knowledge.

To know the self is to embody truth. Acknowledging that you are and always have been living proof that the Universe has a plan, even when you act without a plan in mind.

This is the space where new possibilities are born, and opportunities arise. You’ve opened your mind. In the act of creating without a plan in mind, you enable miracles to happen, energy to move, trust to rise, and yourself to emerge.

When I first began producing Morning Pages, I had no intentions of becoming an artist; I did not even know it could be possible. I simply took a pad of paper and a marker and started letting out the stagnant feelings I was too scared to express fully in the hope of change.

Turns out they are some of the most extraordinary ideas, concepts, and complex visions of how we perceive reality, I’ve yet to discover.

One never really knows what is possible until they choose to do something different.

And in that doing, I promise, you’ll find the gift of presence.
