At The Edge of Death

A Written Work in Progress: Excerpt

A Note on the Meaning of Life
Foreword

“When we step into the mirror of life we must learn to accept the reflection of death. Moving in patterns, rhythms, cycles, and synchronicity we learn to comprehend that all things must come to an end, so we may begin again. It is in death that we reflect on life and the higher purpose. In order for us to find our way through time, we must accept and acknowledge our growth and the lessons that lay within our lives. Trust the process.”

Chapter 1.

Life, Death + Creative Intellect

In the beginning …

I felt myself being called forward toward something greater than I had ever known, and also conscious of what I yearned for. I wanted to live in a state of clarity while being at peace with my mind, body and soul. I yearned to have the confidence to exude this through every bit of who I am and I wanted to live a life through intention, showing up in my journey with kindness and compassion with the awareness to reflect on the idea of greatness. I wanted my words to express fluidly, flowing from me with ease, so as to live in my most natural state… divine consciousness and creativity.

While I was on a journey to find the answers I needed and develop this sense of integrity within, I learned that holding sacred space for others to communicate and express their deepest heart-felt feelings was the greatest gift I could come to know on this planet. And in the process of discovering this all, I thought to myself, how special it was to have such a vision for life, to know your path and find such meaning through it.

I believe that when we have a vision for what our life should be, it means something is moving us to create and evolve beyond what we know right now.

In time I’ve come to learn that when you have the awareness of infinite possibility, it is your duty to accept what is and choose to support that vision in any way you possibly can. It is through the self-discovery process of finding faith, power and strength within, that you can assume the awareness and presence of what you need, in order to have the audacity and tools and even the resources within your reach. All to ensure that idea of infinite possibility, come to be.

In doing so, know that your walk of faith will inspire others to change, while you do so as well.

Wouldn’t that be so beautiful? That as an idea for how you can change comes to mind, and the action taken for it to come to light happens, and the world within you feels those effects, that your entire reality will begin to shift?

Knowing this means, that when you have an idea to create something, it actually means it’s possible, and we need not be afraid of it or the actions necessary to rise up into it. I’ve found time and time again, that when we truly believe in the power of our mind, and dare to take the leap of faith necessary to arrive upon our fate, no matter how many times we fall, we will find the alignment we need and the Universe will support you endlessly to ensure that dream happens.

Trust, the Universe conspires to support your dream reality.

It is in the process of trial and error, learning and growing that we cultivate the lessons needed in order to fulfill our destiny. In finding our higher purpose, and discovering the power within our being, it is by choosing to answer our calling and live our greatest visions in some way, that we can begin to see truth and life on earth knowing what it is designed to be; a space for knowledge cultivation and soul growth.

Along my way, I’ve come across countless stories, beyond my own, from friends and others who continue to express that no matter what happens in their lives if they dare to believe in the higher power and follow their heart toward their greatest joys, the Universe will show you what you need and provide answers in synchronicity.

This is why pattern recognition is so important to me and to all who find themselves on the path of self-discovery, seeking answers to our most profound questions. All to test our skills and experience, by cultivating what we know for our soul’s growth. As we choose to do so, we will come to notice the patterns present within our lives and the reflections of them.

In order to rise, beyond the known and the limitations of our minds, we must begin to apply our insight and perspective to explore what it means to truly be free, while moving to the rhythm of our own heartbeat.

So as you choose to move forward along the path, answering a calling and letting go of the idea that this is the end, know that we are here again, because of creative intellect.

Meditate with me.

Close your eyes for a minute and focus on the centre of your forehead between your brows.

As you do so, I want you to breathe deeply, allowing the energy within you to flow from the tip of your head to the base of your toes, and just slightly beyond this. Now, as you continue to breathe, becoming ever so present, listen to your breath and take notice of how you feel inside your body. Through this, you will find the rhythm of your heartbeat, realigning your mind and body.

Repeat this mantra, as infinitely as you need.

“I accept the miracle I am.”

And when you are ready, take a deep breath in and release the breath entirely. As you do this, you should find yourself with a weight lifted from your shoulders.

Now open your eyes.

Death is merely a doorway for change.

As you continue to do this practice, you will become ever more present in your waking reality and the miracle you are in your own life. You will notice everything from the small and big changes that you make in order to create the change you want to see happen in your life and you will find greater levels of self-acceptance, one step at a time.

The more you choose self-acceptance, the more at peace you can be with the world as it is. Life has a funny way of making us stronger and moulding us into something more than what we are right now. It is through finding your greatest joys, and choosing repeatedly to live out those joys, no matter the cost, that you will find freedom. And you will recognize that any price you need to pay, in order to feel the freedom you seek within your being, is a deal.

When you experience joy, and peace within you, notice that no matter what it took for you to get there, there is gratitude, and appreciation that the path you took, no matter the choices that came along with it, have been reconciled and you can live without fear. Fear most often comes from the unknown. We all do our best to make choices that will serve a higher purpose, but in times we come across experiences that we cannot comprehend the idea of how we got here, we most often question what we did wrong. As if some choice we decided to make, was a poor decision. When it was not.

Instead of looking at choices as right or wrong, healthy or poor, look at all choices as providing you something to learn, finding value and meaning from even the meaningless, most insignificant acts or paths of life. This is where the gold is found. This is where the truth of love is found. We all have stuff we carry around that reflects the issues that we need to overcome, in order for our individual experience to achieve spiritual mastery.

And we can.

In order to be at peace with your life, it’s important to come to a point of non-judgment with what is, and in turn experience clarity. Clarity as experienced in spiritual mastery can be a spontaneous effect that lasts mere moments before we lose its focus. However, with keen attention and openness to the potential of spiritual mastery, we can begin to find ourselves living and experiencing this clarity with more prolonged states of awe.

In turn, the greater peace we know, the more immediate the effects we will feel from the energy within us moving to create according to the higher plan. It is in finding peace and experiencing clarity, we become privy to aspects of the higher plan. These aspects are those that are pertinent to our own divine well-being, and which give us power, to lend a hand.

In some ways, this elevated state is in direct communication with the whole. And yet the information, and perspective shed, is also merely a fractal of the reflection of what truly is.

I believe that when we begin to open our eyes to the higher potential of our divine creativity and the aspect of our soul’s participation, we can awaken to life as spiritual beings.

It is in this awareness that we are less consumed by the material world, and find ourselves in greater acceptance of the abundance the Universe provides, when living in alignment with our soul’s mission and purpose for embodying a human life.

But what’s the difference between the human form and the spiritual life?

In truth, they are connected. In order for us to have consciousness, we must awaken to our spirit and acknowledge that the differences between being awake and asleep, are merely a shift in perspective. Like an opening between one world and another, you embody a human being, for you to live spiritually and ascend your divine nature. Human beings are biological creatures, spiritual awareness is the conscious connection between the soul’s life and the life of a human body.

When you become aware of the spiritual reality, you are conscious of the one life you live, and yet also in fact knowledgeable of the reincarnations you've had in order to live that life and evolve yourself as a spiritual entity.

So as you become less focused on the physical aspects of life on earth, and more in tune with the energy that moves us all, we find a state of being in flow. This flow is what grounds us all, and what helps us evolve. It is the creative intellect that inspires the ideas, visions and dreams we hold and it's also the part of us that ensures our success, even through hardship.

What I’ve come to learn about hardship, is that this is a relationship with yourself in physical reality; the nature of your connection between your soul and body. You experience hardship, when you need to find greater strength and connection to your purpose and passion in life, and through this relationship you find a greater depth of meaning for living through physical existence.

For some, we experience hardship after hardship after hardship, because of our relationship with ease. When we do not believe in an effortless nature, a nature that moves freely, we will find pain in our process and disconnection from our purpose or mission. And yet it is through this hardship, that we experience the awareness of resistance and can outwardly express our passion for such value in having both ups and downs, hills and valleys, pushes and pulls in our lives. It offers us the opportunity to acknowledge the value of polarity.

But we are not to live here.

The path of spiritual mastery teaches us this. It teaches us to accept the nature of suffering in the world and to grow from it, so we may all evolve, and find peace within ourselves and our world at large.

So I’d like you to take a moment and reflect on the hardships in your life. Get out a journal and write, and do your best to answer the following prompts with the least amount of judgment towards them as you can:

1. What was the hardest thing you've ever had to face in your life?

2. What did you learn from that time of hardship?

3. And how could you help someone else, who may also be experiencing this same thing?

Now, I’ll share.

The hardest thing I’ve ever faced in my life was coming to terms and acceptance of the value of my mind and the health of it. When looking deep into the nature of my reality I noticed how I allowed time to place characters in my reality that questioned who I was and what I thought I knew about myself. These individuals would manifest as people making me believe that I wasn’t enough and that my mind was too much. I handed them over my power and chose to believe in their limiting beliefs. I accepted their perspective of my reality as me being incapable and that I wasn’t valuable enough in this world. And my reality reflected that. I let the gas-lighting behaviours of others diminish my light and in turn, fell into a deep state of depression. I lived for years in darkness, clouded by other people’s judgments and struggled with accepting that who I was, was never going to be enough for them. I felt worthless, powerless, and diminished. It was difficult to see the dimly lit light within me still holding on, and fighting for the right to live out my mission and purpose for life. Yet there it was.

At times the darkness grew so much, I began to listen to the voices of others who suggested that there wasn’t any meaning in what I was doing, or how I was living.

This is when I found purpose.

In what seemed like a flash, that suggestion gave me life. My fire grew within and I could begin facing the truth. All life has a purpose. All life has meaning.

Our stories are the makeup of our consciousness creatively expressing. It is through the beauty of which we share authentically our truths, and the relationships we have with others that we can find power within ourselves and choose to do something significant.

In those moments I chose to take the hardship of having to face my feelings of insignificance, to express in the most significant ways I knew how to. I chose to start speaking up, letting go, moving on, and researching other means of finding myself. I went on to travel the world, and depths of my mind, to begin de-cluttering my life.

What’s inside, is also outside.

While it may seem unrelated, and without connection, somewhere inside me I knew I needed to begin purging aspects of my reality. I let go of belongings, I walked away from friendships, and let others walk away too, I moved my home, and I replanted my roots. I nurtured my soul and I gave myself the time and space I needed to truly reflect on what was feeling so toxic and ultimately beating me down.

During this time, I took a hiatus from meditation and started writing. I wrote everywhere and left myself note after note. I was remembering. And I knew then in this moment, I was destined to write a book.

Don’t ask me why, or how I knew. At that time I didn’t even know what it would be about. I just knew it was going to be important for me to save all the things I was writing about, learning about and choosing to spend my time on when I wasn’t overwhelmed by fear.

As time went on, I held on to my newfound awareness, that my life had meaning and that one day I would write about how we create our reality. So, if there is any advice I’d give to someone who’s trying to dig themselves out of whatever hole or pit of darkness and despair they may feel themselves in, I suggest one thing, let it all go and begin again.

It won’t be easy, but I promise it will be worth it. You will hold onto only what you need, and what brings you the most joy, and when you come up to a moment of regret, ask yourself, why? Choose whatever you do in those moments to keep moving forward, and fear not when you feel yourself still, for there is a lot more shifting than you may notice.

Sometimes it takes letting go and living with less to find the value in abundance.

The Truth About Abundance

To know true abundance, you must first know yourself.

There is a reason why so many suffer financial hardship and a sense of lack of abundance. In order to find true abundance you must first know yourself. When suffering from insecurity, we are suffering from a lack of awareness, of the profound beauty that we are and the impact we are here to possess. When stepping towards a path of spiritual mastery, we come to question the nature of our reality and the physical material from which things are made. At times we can experience a sense of insecurity in our ability to manifest those things we desire and that has a major impact on reality as a whole.

But true abundance does not come from the makeup of physical material. True abundance comes from the power of our mental potential. The more we experience clarity and create mental focus, the things we want and need manifest in time.

The questions here we must face are, do we believe it’s possible? And do we believe in ourselves to manifest its possibility?

Have patience in your persistence.

This does not mean it will 100% become a lived reality, but it does mean that there is work there to do, in order to experience the abundance of self-worth in physical reality.

Take nothing for granted.

As mentioned earlier, everything that transpires in the material world comes with a cost and is governed by a spiritual law of exchange. This is all about reciprocity. What goes up, must come down, hence our reflection of gravity. There are boundaries for which this law may shift and evolve, but here on earth, this experience of manifestation, in order to create more, we must be willing to give up the idea of lack somewhere inside of us. Therefore, finding truth and coming to terms with the awareness of what true abundance really is.

Abundance from a spiritual perspective, has everything to do with the power and potential of the mind, the connection to our higher selves and our ability to listen to the guidance provided from the spiritual realm. Not all things that appear physical, truly are. Everything that exists, comes from the root of an energetic form.

This means that we as spiritual beings, and energy bodies have the power and potential to adapt and change form, with great focus and clear intentions, manifesting an altered state and shift in reality. When we look at how abundance or a lack thereof, in our minds hinders our ability to manifest what we want and need, we are handing over our power to something other than ourselves. If we are handing over that power to God, we are well taken care of, yet if we handing over that power to anything other than this, we are limiting our potential.

God, as the Source of all Being and Energy combined, has the power to transform our lives, with our divine will in mind. We as spiritual entities can manifest from the state of divine consciousness to connect with our highest potential and experience true abundance by opening our mind to the idea of knowing. This is much like remembering.

If we remember what it feels like to wake up feeling healthy, wake up feeling secure, wake up feeling provided for, and wake up to living a life we love, we will know true wealth. But if we live in a perpetual state of uncertainty and doubt, we will never fully experience our fullest potential and we will live in a state of insecurity or lack in our ability.

Living in lack is not a negative thing, so be kind to yourself and understand this is something you can change. Know that lack and limitations will only ever be there until you learn all that you need in order to move forward, so trust in your heart to guide you as you continue to find meaning from all things happening in the material.

Look around you and question, what needs to be fixed. And then move towards that, without judgment. Ask yourself how you can help and allow the answers to follow. There is power in knowing and being able to listen to your intuition to make changes in the reality of your own making.

When facing larger issues, like those that are societal, we must ask similar questions and process the conversations we have both with ourselves and those we have with others, in constructive and supportive ways that offer solution-based ideas. This calls us to move beyond the blame game.

Even for our own bodies. We mustn’t blame anything or anyone, yet we must take responsibility. If we notice a need for change, then it is our responsibility to do all that we can, even if at times that means doing nothing.

Watching someone go through a series of hardships, can be extremely difficult for the outside world. We have no idea why someone is facing what they are facing and yet we know we have to live with them, in our collective experience. We can choose to ignore what is happening, or we can learn to sit with them and acknowledge their pain but also love them anyway.

Pain manifests from our insecurities and the core wounds found in the foundation of our being. It is in finding those cracks and allowing the room they need to heal, that we can begin repairing them, or weeding out what is no longer needed so that we can begin again, stronger and wiser.

Ultimately, our pain can help us grow, but it can also block us from seeing the beauty within the world as well. When you reflect on the journey of what it takes for a tree to grow, how much they need to stretch, twist, and expand all at the same time it can help us shed light on our own journeys. Often when we think of abundance, we think about all that we want and need being provided for us right now. Instead of acknowledging the time and space and care it took, that came in abundance, to take us from the age of a seed into a 100-year-old tree.

The change of that 100-year-old tree, from the perspective of the outside world, is all at face value, seemingly insignificant and unimportant. Yet when we look at the life of a tree as a whole, captured by video, and sped up to a minute, we’d be able to notice the dance of life it experienced, and possessed in order for it to grow and evolve through all the seasons of hardship. Some days may have been sunny and bright, and other years may have been bare and grim, lacking the nutrients that they needed. But as the totality of its life unveils itself we understand, the meaning of its life isn’t about just one moment, it is about the whole. The way of one's life and its process.

So as we look to abundance, we must look beyond the material, and face value of life and see all the connections, people, places, experiences, dreams and guidance that it took for you to become the life you are, and everything beyond it. Because from all that we know, and learn about growth, it’s through our ability to apply this knowledge in some creative fashion that we can help each other along, playing our role in the bigger picture.

Creative Intellect

"When you think, you may need. When you know, it shall be." - NA

Everything has its time and place in space. Creative intellect is the make-up of ideas and meaning drawn into some form of conclusion, and an offering from which both you and the world within you, are presented to something more than yourself. It is through our ability to express and communicate our inner world journey through time, in whatever fashion we are sent here to perform, that we find value in who we are and our place in reality. Who we are, is more than what the eyes can see. So as the creative intellect bleeds, allow that energy to pour out of you abundantly and into something magical. Take pride in the profound beauty that you can create when you cleanse and clear your mind. When you allow yourself to be so free, that you express without fear of what it is you are thinking, because you know that in you lays a force so deep, so pure, so wise and sure, that the answers you seek, are seeping into your reality.

It’s time to answer your calling.

There will be a day when the things you love to create, can no longer be held or contained within you or your home. They will, like a child, come to term and need to be birthed, and shared with the world at large. Your path will guide you, and open you up to meet people, visit places and take on experiences that will support your mission to create and feel all the things you have come here to heal. This is what happens when we choose to manifest in a physical, material world… our thoughts, become things and so our earth transforms.

So how do we reconcile the overindulgence of material abundance? When we choose to move from a world of consumption into creation, our desire to apply our creative ideas changes. It moves us through a series of stages.

First, we pore over our thoughts, then we try everything we can to let them out, but when we learn to listen without doubt, fear, shame or guilt of our own process, we have the power to acknowledge what we need to let out. We have the power to see reality for what it really is.

Clarity comes and so we regain focus. Then we make choices, from a stronger more empowered state of being, amplifying our voice, by using our minds to create sustainably. For what we know right now, will evolve, as the whole of the world and every individual plays their part, we will find the connections and resources that we need, in abundance to apply our ideas to something that will help heal our planet.

Do you see it yet? How you are more significant than you ever had imagined? That your ideas and inspirations, and knowledge could actually help our world become a better place. So why then, may I ask would you ever allow anyone or anything to make you feel less than others in any way?

You are everything and a very meaningful being.

Your dreams, and desires all have a purpose within your consciousness. And they have the power to help others manifest their own higher purpose. So as you find yourself on a path of self-discovery or questioning the intellect of your mind, ask yourself this …

What is the best use of your time?

In time you’ll notice answers will begin to appear. You'll start losing interest in the things that no longer serve you or please your spiritual practice, you'll evolve your tastes and interests in what feeds your intellect, you'll empower your spirit to move more abundantly around the planet, and you will learn more intuitively to understand the nature of the cultures that surround you incrementally.

Then as you continue to bridge the gaps of your mind, body and soul, the divine will find the space it needs to become ever more present in your life, you will have opened the doorway, not only a crack, but more so forming a window or a doorway. And there as you continue living, in the ways of life and death, you'll notice that it's in your creative intellect that you leave a legacy, of understanding, knowledge and stories for generations upon generations of people to share.

It is through this sharing, that the wisdom needed will find its way to the right ears, who are open enough to see the light held within and create something beyond it. As that light that travels from place to place, year to year, will move you to produce things that are so unthinkable, and yet so unmistakably you.

Whether big or small, long or short, your life will play a major part. Every interaction, there’s something about the way you live your life that will speak for you, as you choose to allow the force of nature that is the divine into your life. When you pay attention to the signs and symbols that follow you along the path and open you onto the journey and expand your intellect, you will find the truth you seek. Which may or may not be the truth I see.

It is only in time that we will tell, how our lives play in the roles of others as well. If we choose to create with love and find peace in our conviction and clarity of understanding, I full-heartedly believe we will achieve spiritual mastery.
